That's all you need to know. Everything about this book is intense: The love, the hate, the sex, the emotions. Everything.
This isn't the typical run-of-the-mill contemporary romance. The story deals with child molestation and rape by a stranger. The topic, while unpleasant to imagine, is front and center in the lives of Paislee and Keyon, and brings real-life awareness to the deplorable topic.
The tone of the story is slightly on the dark side, but I absolutely loved it. The ups and downs Paislee and Keyon ride, with each other and apart, make the story a real page-turner!
This is my second Sunniva book, and I will absolutely read anything she writes. Hers are more of a realistic romance than "fairy tale-esque," and just very well done.
